Man Forces Kiss On Journalist During Broadcast

This Belgian journalist is set to file a complaint against a man who gave her an unsolicited kiss while she was live on air in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

The incident occurred when journalist Evelyne Boone was reporting from Antwerp in the Flemish Region for Belgian channel VTM Nieuws.

In the video, the woman can be seen speaking to a man as she reports. She then turns to the camera after he reportedly interrupted but he then grabs her head and kisses her on the cheek.

She grimaces as the man then smiles and puts up a peace sign when he walks away.

The spokesman of the channel said: “This is not only a breach of integrity but also inappropriate behaviour in these times of the coronavirus.”

Reports says the network and the reporter plan to file a complaint against the man, who has not been named in reports.

Nicholas Latair, the editor-in-chief of VTM Nieuws, said: “It is crucial that journalists can do their job safely.

“Information about the coronavirus is crucial. We call on everyone to let journalists work and keep a safe distance.”

Reacting to the scene, one netizen commented: “It’s cowardly and scandalous. I hope this individual will be identified soon.”

Another comment said, “Give that guy a hefty fine for kissing the reporter, apparently he didn’t get the point.”

Another says: “Hats off to how cool the #vtmnieuws reporter in Antwerp just stayed! Standing there giving a live interview about how we should all keep our distance, an idiot comes to disrupt her interview and kiss her on the cheek.

“A knee in the balls would have been an appropriate reaction.”
