Hossein Ronaghi, a respected Iranian blogger, civil rights activist and open critic of the country’s oppressive political regime, was seized by police in front of the Evin Prosecutor’s Office in Tehran before he was allegedly forced into a car last month.

Hossein’s mother stated that he was then taken to an undisclosed location where he was tortured and interrogated before both his legs were broken, according to local media reports from Wednesday, 19th October.

This was before he was imprisoned, while the civil rights activist’s family has claimed that Iran’s political regime “intends to kill” Hossein.

The blogger’s brother apparently went on to explain that Hossein is being kept in jail without the medicine that he needs and alleged he had been beaten.

Hossein was arrested despite the fact that he voluntarily presented himself at the Evin Prosecutor’s Office.

This was after the civil rights activist made an appearance on Iran International, a news channel based in Iran, in late September.

He then spoke about the waves of protests shaking the country after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in so called morality police custody before he allegedly escaped a kidnapping carried out by Iran’s security police.

This was before the outspoken blogger told his Twitter followers that he would voluntarily present himself in front of the courthouse and go on a hunger strike if arrested, according to reports.
